Milestone Monday

During his outstanding innings of 80 against Campbelltown-Camden, Damien Mortimer passed 7000 runs in First Grade (he now has 5676 for Sydney University and 1371 for Campbelltown).  He’s the 115th player to reach that milestone in the history of the First Grade competition.

Tim Cummins’ 51 against Campbelltown was his 29th innings above fifty for the club (six centuries, 23 fifties).

Harrison May’s 6-53 against Campbelltown in Second Grade was his first five-wicket haul for the club, and included his fiftieth wicket for the club in all grades.

During his innings of 26 against Campbelltown in Second Grade, Ryan McElduff reached 800 runs for the season.

Arnav Yadav, with 132 against Campbelltown in Third Grade, hit his second century for the club (and first in Thirds).

Luka Flannigan’s 80 in Third Grade against Campbelltown was his third half-century, and highest score, for the club.  During his innings he passed 2000 runs in Premier Cricket.

Will Sutton, with 129 not out against Campbelltown in Fifth Grade, hit his first century for the club.

Jed Collins, with 51 against Campbelltown in Fifth Grade, hit his first half-century for the club.

During his 59 against Randwick-Petersham, Ash Cowan passed 500 runs in Metropolitan Cup.  It was his 32nd score above fifty for the club (including two centuries).

Tomas Breen hit his first half-century for the club, 69 not out against Randwick-Petersham in Metropolitan Cup.  His unbroken tenth wicket partnership of 94 with Isaac Keighran set a new club record for Metropolitan Cup.

In the Green Shield semi-final against Parramatta, Monte Cairns (53) hit his first half-century for the club.

Sarah Brine’s 4-50 against Manly in Women’s First Grade was her best return with the ball for the club.

Zoya Thakur’s 3-13 against Manly in Women’s First Grade was her best return with the ball for the club.

Rebecca Green’s appearance against Parramatta in Women’s Second Grade was her 100th match for Sydney University and the former Universities club combined.

Milestone Monday

Victory over St George in a tight quarter-final has placed the AW Green Shield team into the semi-finals for the fourth time in the club’s history.

Jack Attenborough’s 61 against Parramatta in the First Grade Limited Overs quarter-final was his 27th innings above fifty in First Grade.  During his innings, he passed 600 runs for the season, 1000 runs for the club and 3500 runs in First Grade.

Tim Cummins has passed Mark Faraday (4262 runs) to become the club’s tenth-highest run-scorer in First Grade.

Thomas Siede, with 77 against St George in Thirds, hit his seventh half-century for the club, in his 50th match for the club.

Nivek Tanner, also playing his 50th match for the club, passed 500 runs in Thirds for the club.

Prakhar Sharma passed 500 runs for the club in all grades.

William Preddey, who has previously played Second Grade for Eastern Suburbs, made his debut for the club in Metropolitan Cup against St George and took 5-76.

Ash Cowan kept wicket in the Metropolitan Cup match against St George, becoming the only player in the club’s history to play over 350 matches for the club before keeping wicket for the first time (since you ask, one catch, seven byes).

During his match-winning spell of 4-34 against St George, Arnav Yadav collected his 22nd wicket in Green Shield this season, setting a new club record.  The previous record of 21 was set by Nick Ryan back in 1997-98.

Oliver Lista, with 3-10 against Sutherland in Green Shield, returned his best bowling figures for the club.

Ed Shand, with 53 against Eastern Suburbs in Green Shield, hit his first half-century for the club.

Aminda Weerasooriya, with 70 against Eastern Suburbs in Green Shield, hit his first half-century for the club.

Xavier Quoyle’s vital 62 in the Green Shield quarter-final against St George was his third half-century for the club.

Nicholli Thompson’s 47 not out against St George in Green Shield was his highest score for the club.

Isabella Zovi’s 56 against Parramatta was her first half century in Women’s First Grade.

Will Hardy made his First Grade debut in the match against St George at Hurstville Oval.

Ryan Danne, who hit 58 against St George, passed fifty in Second Grade for the 19th time (4 centuries and 15 half-centuries).

Fletcher May’s 5-13 against St George in Second Grade was his first five-wicket haul for the club, and he has followed up with 2-6 in the second innings so far.

Charles Litchfield, with 127 against St George, hit his ninth century for the club (and fourth in Second Grade).  During his innings, he passed 500 runs for the season. 

Evander Herbert, with 4-29 against St George, returned his best bowling figures in Third Grade.

Charan Dissanayake’s 92 against St George in Fourth Grade was his second half-century, and highest score, for the club.

Thomas Lynch, with 86 not out against St George in Fourth Grade, reached his second half century, and highest score, for the club.  During his innings he passed 500 runs for the club in all grades.

Ben Crawford, with 66 against St George in Metropolitan Cup, hit his fifth score above fifty for the club (including two centuries).

Henry Snyman, with 105 against Fairfield in Poidevin-Gray, hit his first century for the club.  During his innings, he passed 1000 runs for the club in all grades.

Cameron Frendo’s 5-28 against Fairfield in Poidevin-Gray was his first five-wicket haul for the club.

In the Green Shield match against University of NSW, Archie O’Hara’s 74 was his fourth consecutive innings over fifty.

Arnav Yadav, with 4-17 against Manly, collected his best bowling figures in Green Shield.

Xavier Quoyle’s 82 against Manly in Green Shield was his first half-century in the competition and  his second for the club.

First Grade has reached the quarter finals of the Limited Overs competition, which is the fourteenth time Sydney University has achieved this.

Dylan Church, with 71 (from 32 balls with 7 sixes) against UTS North Sydney, hit his first half-century in Second Grade.

Henry Snyman, with 58 against UTS North Sydney, hit his highest score in Second Grade, and followed it with his best bowling figures for the club (2-9).

Oli Zannino’s first catch against UTS North Sydney in Seconds was his 100th for the club in all grades.

Ben Trevor-Jones, with 73 not out against UTS North Sydney, hit his highest score in Third Grade.

Dom Goddard, during his 27 against UTS North Sydney, passed 500 runs in Third Grade.

Evander Herbert, with 3-17 against UTS North Sydney, returned his best bowling figures in Third Grade.

Aryan Menon made his Third Grade debut against UTS North Sydney, and took his first wicket in that grade.

George Baldwin, with 58 against UTS North Sydney in Fourth Grade, hit his first half-century for the club.

Charan Dissanayake’s 49 against UTS North Sydney was his highest score in Fifth Grade.

Samuel Shepherd’s 42 against UTS North Sydney was his highest score in Fifth Grade.

Lewis Ansell collected his 100th wicket for the club in all grades.

Mikey McNamara’s 44 against Campbelltown-Camden in Poidevin-Gray was his highest score for the club.

Hayden McCarthy’s 72 against Campbelltown-Camden was his third half-century, and highest score, in Poidevin-Gray.  In the Campbelltown-Camden innings he took his 50th wicket for the club in all grades.

Archie O’Hara (with 74 against UTS North Sydney, 135 not out against Bankstown and 55 against Hawkesbury) began his career for the club with two half-centuries and a century in AW Green Shield.

Kobi Robinson, with 59 against Bankstown in AW Green Shield, hit his first half-century for the club.

Ed Shand’s 49 against Hawkesbury in AW Green Shield was his highest score for the club.

Oliver Lista, with 54 not out against Hawkesbury in AW Green Shield, hit his first half-century for the club.

Milestone Monday

Hayden McCarthy made his debut in the Under 19 National Championships, playing for Northern Territory against Victoria Country (alongside former SUCC player Malay Doshi).

When Damien Mortimer dismissed Harrison Ward of North Sydney, he claimed his first wicket for the club (in his 188th match).  His previous seven First Grade wickets were taken for Campbelltown-Campbell, the last of them in 2016.

Jack Attenborough had a productive weekend in Dubbo, registering his 7th First Grade century (100 against North Sydney)  and his 19th half-century (96 against Manly).  During his innings against North Sydney, he passed 500 runs for the season.

Against North Sydney in First Grade, Tim Cummins dismissed five batsmen in the North Sydney innings, which included his 250th catch for the club.

The First Grade match against North Sydney was Charles Litchfield’s 150th match for the club in all grades.

Cameron Frendo, with 3-41 against North Sydney, returned his best bowling figures for the club.

Ryan Danne, who hit 65 from only 25 balls against Manly, passed fifty in Second Grade for the 18th time (4 centuries and 14 half-centuries).

Will Lintott, with 3-9 against Manly, claimed his best bowling figures in Second Grade.

In the Second Grade match against Manly, Lewis Wells, who played Metropolitan Cup last season, dismissed Joel Davies, who played BBL for the Sydney Sixers last season.

Peter Brazel played his 50th match for the club in all grades.

Oli Zannino held his 50th catch in Second Grade for the club.

Ben Trevor-Jones held his 100th catch for the club.

Henry Watkins’ 54 against Auburn in Metropolitan Cup was his second half-century for the club.

Phoebe Litchfield’s 60 for Australia against India in Brisbane was her seventh innings of fifty or more in Women’s One Day Internationals (including two centuries).

Theertha Satish, who hit 51 from 38 balls against Gordon in Women’s First Grade, recorded her first half-century for the club.

Isabelle Afaras, with 3-21 against Gordon in Women’s First Grade, returned her best bowling figures for the club.

Nadia Carvalho’s 35 against Penrith in Brewer Shield was her highest score for the club.

Diksha Chowdhary’s spell of 4-1-5-2 against Penrith in Brewer Shield was the most economincal spell of four overs recorded for the club in a T20 Brewer Shield game.

During his innings of 40 against Hawkesbury in Second Grade on Sunday, Ryan McElduff passed 5000 runs in Premier Cricket (4883 for Sydney University and 130 for Gordon).

Dylan Church, with 40 against Hawkesbury, hit his highest score in Second Grade.

Lewis Wells made his Second Grade debut for the club in the match against Hawkesbury, and took his first wicket in that grade.

George Baldwin, with 4-20 against Hawkesbury in Fourth Grade, returned his best bowling figures for the club.

During her innings of 46 for Sydney Thunder in the WBBL Eliminator against Hobart Hurricanes, Phoebe Litchfield passed 1500 runs in the WBBL.

During his innings against Parramatta, Tim Cummins passed 7500 runs in all grades in Premier Cricket (4217 for Sydney University and 3284 for Penrith).

During his innings against Parramatta in Second Grade, Jack Hill passed 7000 runs for the club in all grades.  He becomes the eighth player to achieve this for the club, after Nick Larkin, Greg Mail, Ed Cowan, Ian Moran, Liam Robertson, Adam Theobald and Ash Cowan.

During his innings of 28 against Parramatta in Second Grade, Charles Litchfield passed 4500 runs for the club in all grades.

During his innings of 40 against Parramatta in Second Grade, Ryan McElduff passed 700 runs for the season.  He’s only the second player for the club (after Dave Butchart in 2006-07) to score more than 700 runs in a Second grade season.

In the match against Parramatta, William Lintott made his Second Grade debut for the club, and took his first wicket in that grade.

When Andrew Wilkinson took his second wicket in Thirds on Saturday, he passed Lewis McMahon (269) to become the 35th highest wicket taker in the club’s history.

Lewis Wells made his Third Grade debut against Parramatta, scoring 22 and taking 4-38.

In the Third Grade match against Parramatta, Tom Lord made his debut for the club, and took his first wicket.

Will Salzmann’s 61 against Blacktown was his first half-century for the club in Poidevin-Gray.

Hayden McCarthy, with 3-9 against Blacktown, returned his best bowling figures in Poidevin-Gray.

Holly Barnett did the hat trick with the first three balls she bowled in Brewer Shield against the Southern Swans on Sunday.  Sienna Knight held a catch from the first ball, and the next two batters were bowled.  Holly’s 3-10 was her best return with the ball for the club.

Diksha Chowdhary also took 3-10 in Brewer Shield against Southern Swans, which was also her best analysis for the club.

Former Sydney University all-rounder, Nivethan Radhakrishnan, scored his first Sheffield shield half-century, 55 for Tasmania against New South Wales.

Jack Attenborough’s matchwinning 143 against Mosman was his seventh century in First Grade, his second for the club, his highest score in First Grade and his highest score for the club.  During his innings, he passed 5000 runs in all grades in Premier Cricket (4363 for University of NSW).

Jack Hill’s 60 against Mosman was his second score above fifty in First Grade.

During his innings of 23 against Mosman, Will Salzmann passed 1500 runs in First Grade.

Ryan McElduff’s 79 against Mosman in Second Grade was his sixth innings above fifty in his seven innings this season.  When he scored his first run, he passed 600 runs for the season.

Ben Trevor-Jones made his Third Grade debut for the club in the match against Mosman.  It was his first Third Grade game since 2010-11 (when he played for Hawkesbury), and his 55 was his first half-century in Thirds.

While taking 4-40 against Mosman in Thirds, Andrew Wilkinson passed Steve Quartermain (266 wickets) to become the 36th-highest wicket-taker for the club.

Lewis Wells, with 5-16 against Mosman, collected his first five-wicket haul in Fourth Grade and his second for the club.

Shuv Banerjee, with 5-30 against Mosman in Fifth Grade, collected his first five-wicket haul for the club.

Quinn Fowler, with 72 not out against Mosman in Fifth Grade, scored his second half-century, and highest score, for the club (and also picked up his first wicket in Fifths).

James Schroder, with 51 against Mosman, scored his first half-century in Fifth Grade.

Samuel Shepherd’s 114 not out against Mosman in Metropolitan Cup was his first century for the club.

Jock MacCallum, with 44 against Mosman in Metropolitan Cup, hit his highest score for the club.

Isaac Keighran, with 3-16 against Mosman in Metropolitan Cup, returned his best bowling figures for the club.

Vaishnavi Deobhankar, with 4-46 against Northern District in Women’s First Grade, claimed her best bowling figures for the club.

When Tim Cummins caught Blacktown’s Waqas Tareen, from Hayden Kerr’s bowling, on Saturday, he completed his 284th dismissal behind the stumps for the club – taking him past Shane Stanton (228 catches and 55 stumpings) to make him the second most successful wicket-keeper in the club’s history.  Now, only the late Alan Crompton (331 dismissals between 1961 and 1980) has dismissed more batsmen in First Grade for Sydney University.

Andrew Hazard played his 200th Premier Cricket match (73 for Sydney University, 127 for Penrith).

Bailey Lidgard, with 4-46 against Blacktown, claimed his best bowling figures in Second Grade.

Peter Brazel took his 50th wicket for the club in all grades.

In Third Grade against Blacktown, Andrew Wilkinson took his 264th wicket for the club in all grades, joining Jock Baird as the joint 37th-highest wicket taker for the club.

Sidhaarthaa Veeravalli, with 3-43 against Blacktown, returned his best bowling figures in Third Grade.

Robbie Keaton’s decisive 41 not out against Blacktown in Fourth Grade was his highest score for the club.

Flinders Zhang-Langley took his 50th wicket for the club in all grades.

William Garske’s 40 against Blacktown in Fifth Grade was his highest score for the club.

Charan Dissanayake, with 58 against Warringah, hit his first half-century for the club.

Quinn Fowler, with 66 against Warringah, hit his first half-century for the club.

Isabella Zovi, in Women’s Seconds against Gordon, not only hit her second half-century for the club (62) but also collected her best bowling figures for the club (3-24).

Catherin Puiu, with 31 not out in Brewer Shield’s win over North Sydney, hit her highest score for the club.

Damien Mortimer, with 58 against Blacktown in First Grade, hit his 40th innings above fifty for the club (7 centuries, 33 fifties).  And he continues to climb up the list of all-time First Grade run-scorers: on Saturday, he passed former NSW batsmen Wayne Seabrook (6857) and Randal Green (6889) and he’s now placed 123rd.

During his innings against Blacktown on Saturday, Max Hope passed 500 runs in First Grade, reaching the milestone with a six.

Tim Cummins’ 53 against Blacktown was his 28th innings above fifty for the club (six centuries, 22 fifties).

Charles Litchfield’s 51 against Blacktown was his second half-century in First Grade.

Hayden McCarthy’s 48 not out against Blacktown was his highest score in First Grade.  And his 65 against UTS North Sydney was his second half-century, and highest score, in Poidevin-Gray.

Ryan McElduff hit the first double-century of his career, 206 not out against Blacktown in Second Grade.  It was his third century for the club.  During his innings, he became the first batsman in the club to reach 500 runs for the season, and fell just one run short of reaching 600 as well.  He’s also the first player to reach 500 runs in Seconds for any club this season.  Ryan’s innings was the ninth double-century for the club in Seconds and the fifth-highest score ever recorded for the club in Seconds.

During his innings of 43 against Blacktown, Ryan Danne passed 2500 runs in Second Grade.

Henry Snyman’s 52 not out against Blacktown was his first half-century in Second Grade.

Dylan Church’s 154 not out against Blacktown in Third Grade was his first century for the club.

During his spell of 4-27 against Blacktown in Fourth Grade, Lewis Wells took his 50th wicket for the club in all grades.

The Poidevin-Gray match against Western Suburbs was Dom Goddard’s 50th match for the club in all grades.

Sofia Muston’s 38 not out against Sydney in Third Grade was her highest score for the club.

Abigail Hoyt, with 1-11 in Third Grade took her first wicket for the club.

Jack Hill’s 107 against Penrith was his first century in First Grade.  As far as we can tell, no one else has played 250 Premier Cricket matches before reaching his first First Grade hundred.

Darcy Mooney, with 3-25 against Penrith in First Grade, returned his best bowling figures for the club.

Andrew Hazard’s 71 against Penrith in Second Grade was his sixth innings above fifty for the club (including one century).

The club record for most Second Grade wickets is still held by Josh Toyer who, after taking 3-36 against Penrith, now has 228 of them.

While taking 2-49 against Penrith in Second Grade, Peter Brazel took his 50th wicket in Premier Cricket (including two for UTS North Sydney).

During his 45 not out against Penrith in Fourth Grade, Nivek Tanner passed 2500 runs in Premier Cricket.

Will Elliott, with 3-31 against Penrith, returned his best bowling figures in Fourth Grade.

Thomas Hawkins, with 88 against Penrith ion Fifth Grade, hit his first half-century for the club.

Aryan Menon, who took 6-11 against Strathfield in Metropolitan Cup, captured his first five-wicket haul for the club.  He also did the hat-trick and took four wickets in five balls: in one spell of fourteen deliveries, he took five wickets without allowing a run.

The Metropolitan Cup match against Strathfield was Ash Cowan’s 150th match as captain for the club (and his 99th win as captain).  As the entire match occupied only 38.2 overs, there was no time for him to bat or bowl.

Zoya Thakur’s 88 against Northern District in Women’s First Grade was her first half-century for the club.

Beth Wonders’ 71 against Sydney in Women’s Second Grade was her third half-century, and highest score, for the club.

Marie Sikiotis, with 42 not out against St George-Sutherland in Women’s Third Grade, hit her highest score for the club.

Frankie Nicklin made her WBBL debut for the Sydney Sixers against Melbourne Renegades on Sunday in Adelaide.

Jack Hill played his 250th game for the club in all grades.

Ryan McElduff’s extraordinary 186 (from only 132 balls) against Sydney in Second Grade was his second century, and highest score for the club.  During his innings he passed both 4500 runs in Premier Cricket and 4500 runs for the club, passing co-patron Bruce Collins (4489 runs) to become the 32nd highest run scorer for the club.

Charles Litchfield’s 119 against Sydney was his third, and highest, century in Second Grade.  During his innings, he passed 2000 runs in Seconds.

Ryan Danne’s 72 not out against Sydney was his 17th score in Second Grade above fifty (four centuries and 13 fifties).  During his innings, he passed Dave Butchart (4761 runs) to become the 29th highest run scorer for the club.

Sidhaarthaa Veeravalli (18 not out) and Evander Herbert (24 not out) both posted their highest Third Grade scores in the course of their match-winning tenth wicket partnership against Sydney.

The Brewer Shield team won consecutive matches for the first time in the club’s history.

Artemis Downer (2-13 against Sydney) and Chaye Hartwell (2-13 v St George-Sutherland) both returned their best bowling figures in Women’s First Grade for the club.

Saskia Gibson, with 32 against Parramatta in Brewer Shield, hit her highest score for the club.

Sienna Knight, with 42 against Parramatta in Brewer Shield, hit her highest score for the club.

Diksha Chowdhary, with 3-26 against Parramatta in Brewer Shield, returned her best bowling figures for the club.

Beth Wonders, with 68 against Gordon in Women’s Second Grade, hit her second half-century (and equalled her highest score) for the club.

Aarani Posener, with 50 not out against Parramatta in Women’s Third Grade, hit her first half-century for the club.

Frankie Nicklin played her first T20 matches for the Sydney Sixers in the T20 Spring Challenge, taking 2-25 against the Brisbane Heat and scoring 20 not out against Sydney Thunder.  Frankie’s 51 not out against Northern District in First Grade was her fourth innings above fifty for the club (including a century).

It was a big weekend for the Sydney University Women’s teams, who won three games with one washed out – the first time the club has won three games in a round.

Zoya Thakur’s 47 not out against Northern District in Women’s First Grade was her highest score for the club, and she also took her first wicket for the club.

Artemis Downer took her first wickets in both First Grade and Second Grade against Northern District.

Isabella Zovi, with 67 against Northern District in Second Grade, hit her first half-century for the club.

The opening partnership of 88 between Ella Wade (43 not out) and Sienna Knight (31) – who each hit their highest score for the club – was a club record for Brewer Shield.

Max Hope marked his 50th match in First Grade by scoring fifty (59 against Sydney) – his third half-century, and highest score, in the top grade.

During University’s lower-order fightback against Sydney, three players – Cameron Frendo (50 not out), Fletcher May (43) and Hayden McCarthy (28) recorded their highest First Grade scores.

Darcy Manners (4-44 against Sydney) collected his best bowling figures in Second Grade.

Peter Brazel (4-59 against Sydney) collected his best bowling figures in Second Grade.

Kobi Robinson, with 2-37 against Sydney in Third Grade, took his first wickets for the club.

Jehan Polwaththe, with 43 in Third Grade against Sydney, recorded his highest score for the club.

Arnav Yadav, with 141 not out against Sydney in Fourth Grade, recorded his first century for the club.  During his innings, he passed 500 runs for the club in all grades.

Tushar Sharma’s 60 against Sydney was his first half-century in Fourth Grade.

Aaryan Menon made his Premier Cricket debut for the club in the Fifth Grade match against Sydney, and so far has taken 4-22.

Murray Miles took 5-55 in Metropolitan Cup against St George, his second five-wicket haul for the club.

Milestone Monday

Jack Attenborough’s 79 against Sutherland was his 25th innings over fifty in First Grade (with six centuries).  During his innings he passed 500 runs for the club.

Tim Cummins’ 92 not out against Sutherland was his 26th innings above fifty for the club (six centuries, 20 fifties).  During his innings he passed 4000 runs for the club, all in First Grade.  On Sunday, in the T20 match against Eastern Suburbs, he held his 400th catch in First Grade (162 of them for Penrith).

Damien Mortimer has passed Liam Robertson (5386 runs) to become the fifth-highest First Grade run-scorer in the club’s history.  And he continues to climb the list of all-time First Grade run-scorers: on Saturday, he passed former NSW batsmen Graeme Rummans (6753), Frank Iredale (6769), Ron Briggs (6782) and Neil Marks (6783) and is now placed 130th.

Dylan Church made his Second Grade debut in the match against Sutherland.

Ryan McElduff’s third successive half-century of the season (94 against Sutherland in Second Grade) was his 29th score above fifty for the club in all grades (including one century). 

Bailey Lidgard made his Second Grade debut in the match against Sutherland.  On Sunday, in the T20 match against Eastern Suburbs, he returned his best bowling figures in First Grade (3-23).

Fletcher May took his first wickets in First Grade for the club in the T20 match against Eastern Suburbs (2-17).

We could end up doing this most weeks this season, but Josh Toyer further extended his club record for the most wickets in Second Grade – to 225.

Charles Litchfield’s 99 not out against Sutherland in Third Grade was his 29th score of fifty or more for the club (7 centuries, 22 fifties).  This was the second time he had scored 99 in Third Grade, and was the sixth score in the 90s of his career with the club.

Thomas Siede’s 66 not out against Sutherland in Third Grade was his fifth half-century for the club.  During his innings he passed both 500 runs for the club in all grades and 1000 runs in Premier Cricket.

Will Salzmann’s 50 against Western Suburbs was his ninth score of fifty or more in First Grade (including one century).

Damien Mortimer, with 54 against Western Suburbs in First Grade, hit his 39th innings above fifty for the club (7 centuries, 32 fifties). 

During his 64 against Western Suburbs, Tim Cummins passed Scott Henry (3850 runs), becoming the 12th highest run scorer for the club in First Grade.  He also passed 6000 runs in First Grade, having scored 2126 for Penrith.  It was his 25th innings above fifty for the club (six centuries, 19 fifties).

In the match against Western Suburbs, Henry Snyman recorded both his highest score (35) and best bowling (2-38) in Second Grade.

Oli Zannino, with 64 against Western Suburbs, equalled his highest score for the club in Second Grade.  During his innings, which was his fifth half century for the club, he reached both 1000 runs for the club and 2000 runs in Premier Cricket (including 1031 for Gordon).

In the Third Grade match against Western Suburbs, Harrison Allomes made his highest score for the club (40) and held his first catches behind the stumps.

In the Third Grade match against Western Suburbs, Luka Flannigan took his 50th wicket in Thirds for the club.

Evander Herbert made his Third Grade debut in the match against Western Suburbs, and took his first wicket in Thirds.

Will Lintott made his Third Grade debut in the match against Western Suburbs.

Sidhaarthaa Veeravalli took his first wicket in Third Grade in the match against Western Suburbs.

In the Metropolitan Cup match against Georges River, Henry Watkins hit a half-century (88) in his first innings for the club, as well as taking his first wickets for the club (3-27).

The T20 match against University of NSW was Tim Cummins’ 300th match in First Grade (161 for Sydney University, 139 for Penrith).  He drew level with Scott Henry on 3850 runs, becoming the joint 12th highest run scorer for the club in First Grade.

Kieran Tate took four wickets in his sensational opening spell against Blacktown in the T20 match on Saturday, and his fourth wicket (Justin Avendano) took him past Chris Elder (366 wickets) to become the 14th highest wicket taker in the history of the club.

Dylan Hunter’s brutal 54 not out from 20 balls in the T20 match against Blacktown was his eighth innings above fifty for the club (including two centuries).

Damien Mortimer, with 59 in the T20 match against University of NSW, hit his 38th innings above fifty for the club (7 centuries, 31 fifties).  During his innings, he passed former Test wicket-keeper Hanson Carter, former NSW all-rounder Terry Lee and former Tasmanian wicketkeeper Mark Atkinson to reach 137th on the list of highest run scorers in the history of the First Grade competition.

Jack Hill, with 100 against Gordon, recorded his fourth century in Second Grade and his ninth for the club in all grades.  During his innings he passed 3000 runs in Second Grade.

Dom Goddard’s 50 against Gordon was his second half-century in Second Grade and his eighth for the club in all grades.

Ryan McElduff’s 63 not out against Gordon in Second Grade was his 27th score above fifty for the club in all grades (including one century).

William Hardy made his Second Grade debut in the match against Gordon, and collected his first wicket in Seconds.

Milestone Monday returns

Phoebe Litchfield, with 64 not out (from 43 balls) against New Zealand in Mackay, hit her second half-century, and highest score, in T20 Internationals.

Playing in his seventh List A match for NSW, against Western Australia at Blacktown Olympic Park, Will Salzmann was dismissed (for 20) for the first time, so he now has a List A batting average – 61.  He also collected two wickets and held an outstanding catch to win the game for NSW by 8 runs.

Dylan Hunter’s extraordinary 123 not out in the T20 match against Western Suburbs (from 64 balls, with 11 sixes) was his highest score and second century for the club.  During his innings against Western Suburbs he also passed both 2000 runs in First Grade and 2500 runs in Sydney Premier Cricket.

Damien Mortimer, with 52 against UTS North Sydney, passed fifty for the 37th time for the club (7 centuries and 30 fifties).  During his innings, Damien passed Nick Ridley (5229 runs) to become the 22nd highest run scorer in the club’s history. 

The unbroken tenth-wicket partnership of 45 (in 4.1 overs) between Bailey Lidgard and Darcy Mooney against UTS North Sydney set a new record for the club in the First Grade T20 competition.

The T20 match against Western Suburbs was Jack Attenborough’s 100th match in First Grade (79 of them for University of NSW).

Cameron Frendo made his debut for the club in the T20 match against Western Suburbs.  It was his 50th First Grade match, after playing 49 for Fairfield-Liverpool.

Bailey Lidgard made his debut for the club in the T20 match against Western Suburbs and took his first wicket when he dismissed Muhammad Irfan.  In the match against UTS North Sydney, he hit the first ball he received for the club for 6.

Mikey McNamara made his debut for the club in the T20 match against Western Suburbs.

Darcy Mooney made his debut for the club in the T20 match against Western Suburbs.

Milestone Monday

Third Grade won the Mitchell Cup for the seventh time in the club’s history.  It was only the second time that a University team has won both the Third Grade premiership and the minor premiership in the same season.

Milan Swaraj passed 700 runs for the season during the Third Grade grand final.

The Third Grade grand final was a big game for Dom Goddard, whose 73 earned him the Mick Favell Medal as the player of the match.  He scored his seventh half-century for the club (and fourth in Thirds).  During his innings he passed both 500 runs in Third Grade and 1000 runs for the club in all grades.

During his valuable 39 against Manly in the grand final, Henry Snyman passed 500 runs in Third Grade for the club.

In Manly’s innings in the grand final, Oli Zannino held five catches behind the stumps for the first time in Third Grade, and this included his 100th dismissal for the club in all grades.

During the grand final against Sutherland, Thomas Crawford passed 500 runs in Metropolitan Cup.

Third Grade has reached the final of the competition for the fourteenth time in the club’s history.

Henry Snyman, with 89 against Northern District in the Third Grade semi-final, recorded his highest score for the club.  During his innings, he passed 500 runs for the club in all grades.

When the Metropolitan Cup Blue and Gold teams faced off in a semi-final on the weekend, it was the first time that two Sydney University teams had contested a final against each other.  The club has fielded two Metropolitan Cup teams in recent years, and in the 1970s and 1980s, fielded two teams in Fifth Grade – but never before have the club’s two teams in the same competition both reached the finals.

Metropolitan Cup Blue has reached the grand final of the competition – which will be the seventh time for a University team.

Samuel Shepherd’s 79 in the Metropolitan Cup semi-final was his highest score for the club.

Harrison Hartnell’s 50 not out in the Metropolitan Cup semi-final was his first half-century for the club.

Yuvray Dalvi’s 70 in the Metropolitan Cup semi-final was his fifth innings above fifty (including one century) for the club.

During his innings of 38 in the Metropolitan Cup final, Anik Siwach passed 500 runs for the club in all grades.

Oly Lee-Young’s 87 in the Metropolitan Cup semi-final was his fourth innings above fifty (including one century) for the club.  He also passed 500 runs for the club in all grades.

Greg Cade now has 33 wicket-keeping dismissals for the season, which breaks the club’s Metropolitan Cup record, set by… Greg Cade.

Aarav Sharma, with 6-49 in the Metropolitan Cup semi-final, collected his best bowling figures for the club.

Milestone Monday

Third Grade, with a hard-fought win over St George, has reached the semi-finals for the 25th time since finals cricket was introduced in 1952-53.

Josh Toyer took his 150th wicket in Third Grade when he bowled St George’s Blake Kenworthy on Sunday.

Matt Powys, with 53 against St George on Saturday, hit his 20th score above fifty for the club (4 centuries, 16 fifties).

Thomas Lynch, with 3-54 against Manly in Fifth Grade, returned his best bowling figures for the club.

Zander Robertson’s 52 against Manly in Fifth Grade was his fifth innings above fifty for the club (one of them a century).

Ali Bajwa, with 4-18 against Randwick-Petersham, claimed his best bowling figures in Metropolitan Cup.

Evander Herbert’s 4-22 against Warringah included his 50th wicket in Metropolitan Cup.  He has now taken 53 Metropolitan Cup wickets at an average of just 7.81.

During his innings of 22 against Warringah in Metropolitan Cup, Murray Miles passed 1000 runs for the club in all grades.
