Sydney University Cricket Club - An Icon
The club
Sydney University Cricket Club (Incorporated 2023), boasts over 160 years of passion and tradition. From the first University of Sydney students taking to the Garrison Ground (what is now the site of the SCG), through to the current NSW Premier Cricket 1st Grade Premiers, SU Cricket is founded on excellence.
SU Cricket's home on the Camperdown Campus of The University of Sydney places it in a picturesque and iconic location close to the Sydney CBD.
The Club is supported by Sydney Uni Sport & Fitness, the premier sporting body in Australian university sport. This support assists SU Cricket Club with state-of-the-art facilities, as well as allowing our student members to pursue their cricketing dreams whilst completing their chosen studies.

Niv Radhakrishnan after one season with the club, has been offered a two year rookie contract with Tasmania. We wish him well.
Tim Cummins handed the 1st Grade Belvidere and Limited Overs Cup captaincy over to Damien Mortimer in season 2023/24, but still leads the team in the T20 Format. A major recruit in 2023/24 has been William Salzmann who is promising all rounder now contracted with NSW Blues and the Sydney Thunder. Jack Attenborough has also made the move across from UNSW to SUCC. He is a prolific First Grade opening batsman.
They are supported by a strong group of players under the Elite Athlete Program, who combine their education with a high performance cricket training program. This program has been the cornerstone of the Club's player depth and success.
our philosophy
Sydney University Cricket Club is proud of the way its cricketers play their cricket.
The Club expects excellence and success on-field, but not at any cost. The Spirit of Cricket is as important to the Club as any of its victories, and was awarded the SCA Spirit of Cricket Award in 2023/24 - the seventh time in last thirteen seasons since the award’s inception.
Our mantra of success is not contained to the cricket field. The Club expects the same level of dedication and passion of our players in their study/work life. With the strength of The University of Sydney (among the top 100 Universities in the world), our members have the opportunity to create a successful life outside of cricket. Our corporate network is extensive with players and Alumni successful in a wide variety of industries.
