Women’s program

The Women’s Program was welcomed into the Club in at the start of season 2023/24 and huge progress has already been made in developing this program under the guidance of former Australian Test Captain Alex Blackwell and her staff.

At Sydney University Cricket Club (SUCC) we cater from beginners to representative players with teams in first, second, and third grade and Brewer Shield (U18s) in the Sydney Premier women’s competition.

Training is Wednesdays at University of Sydney campus and home games are played at University of Sydney campuses. The season usually starts early October and plays through to the end of March.

1st grade, 2nd grade, and Brewer Shield teams play Sundays on turf pitches with mixed format (Limited Overs and T20s). 3rd grade is social but competitive cricket for those players who would like to give cricket a try or play socially. It is played Saturdays on synthetic pitches around Sydney.

SUCC has qualified coaches who coach at training and attend game day matches.

SUCC boasts international, WNCL and WBBL players and alumni – Phoebe Litchfield (Current Australian, NSW and Sydney Thunder cricketer), Alex Blackwell (Former Australian Captain), Rachel Trenaman (NSW Breakers), Maddy Darke (Western Australia), Stella Campbell (NSW Breakers and Australia), Amy Yates (ACT Meteors), Carly Leeson (ACT Meteors), and more!

We always welcome new players and members, should you be interested in joining the club for 2024/25 please email h.cain@sport.usyd.edu.au
