Frankie Nicklin played her first T20 matches for the Sydney Sixers in the T20 Spring Challenge, taking 2-25 against the Brisbane Heat and scoring 20 not out against Sydney Thunder. Frankie’s 51 not out against Northern District in First Grade was her fourth innings above fifty for the club (including a century).
It was a big weekend for the Sydney University Women’s teams, who won three games with one washed out – the first time the club has won three games in a round.
Zoya Thakur’s 47 not out against Northern District in Women’s First Grade was her highest score for the club, and she also took her first wicket for the club.
Artemis Downer took her first wickets in both First Grade and Second Grade against Northern District.
Isabella Zovi, with 67 against Northern District in Second Grade, hit her first half-century for the club.
The opening partnership of 88 between Ella Wade (43 not out) and Sienna Knight (31) – who each hit their highest score for the club – was a club record for Brewer Shield.
Max Hope marked his 50th match in First Grade by scoring fifty (59 against Sydney) – his third half-century, and highest score, in the top grade.
During University’s lower-order fightback against Sydney, three players – Cameron Frendo (50 not out), Fletcher May (43) and Hayden McCarthy (28) recorded their highest First Grade scores.
Darcy Manners (4-44 against Sydney) collected his best bowling figures in Second Grade.
Peter Brazel (4-59 against Sydney) collected his best bowling figures in Second Grade.
Kobi Robinson, with 2-37 against Sydney in Third Grade, took his first wickets for the club.
Jehan Polwaththe, with 43 in Third Grade against Sydney, recorded his highest score for the club.
Arnav Yadav, with 141 not out against Sydney in Fourth Grade, recorded his first century for the club. During his innings, he passed 500 runs for the club in all grades.
Tushar Sharma’s 60 against Sydney was his first half-century in Fourth Grade.
Aaryan Menon made his Premier Cricket debut for the club in the Fifth Grade match against Sydney, and so far has taken 4-22.
Murray Miles took 5-55 in Metropolitan Cup against St George, his second five-wicket haul for the club.
