It was quite a weekend for Devlin Malone.  His match-winning 6-93 against Wests on Saturday drew him level with Dr Stewart Smith (University wartime captain) with 241 First Grade wickets for the club, the eighth-highest tally for Sydney University.  It was the tenth five-wicket haul of his First Grade career, eight of them for Sydney University.  In his first over the following day, he first equalled, and then passed, left arm swing bowler Geoff Pike (242 wickets) to become the seventh-highest wicket taker for the club in First Grade.  And he went on to collect his eleventh five-wicket haul (nine for the club), demolishing Fairfield-Liverpool with 5-7 – which included his 250th wicket for the club in all grades.  This was not only Devlin’s first T20 five wicket haul for the club, but also seems to have been the best return by any bowler in the history of the Sydney T20 competition – we can’t find any record of a bowler taking more than five wickets, or conceding as few as seven runs while doing it.

Dylan Hunter hit his first century for the club, a ferocious 120 from 60 balls against Fairfield-Liverpool in the T20 match on Sunday.  Hunter reached his century from only 48 balls, and moved from 79 to 103 by smashing four successive sixes from the bowling of Jake Wholohan (he followed with a four and a single, taking 29 from the over).  During his innings he passed 1500 runs in First Grade (including 1129 for Gordon and 246 for Randwick-Petersham) and it was the third century of his First Grade career.

Damien Mortimer hit his 31st score above fifty for the club (including ) in the T20 match against Fairfield-Liverpool on Sunday.  He scored 67, and reached his fifty from only 31 balls.  During his innings, he passed Ted LeCouteur (4349 runs) to become the 32nd highest run scorer for the club in all grades.

The third wicket partnership of 171 between Dylan Hunter and Damien Mortimer against Fairfield-Liverpool is a record for any wicket for Sydney University in the T20 competition, beating the 147 for the second wicket between Tim Cummins and Damien Mortimer against Parramatta in 2020-21.  The T20 record for the third wicket for all clubs is 183, set by Mosman’s Johan Botha and Matthew Day against Illawarra in 2016-17.
