Sydney University has progressed to the First-Grade semi-final for the 13th time since finals were introduced to the competition in 1952-53.

Devlin Malone’s three wickets against Randwick-Petersham on the weekend gave him 67 for the season in First Grade, beating his own previous best of 65 (in 2018-19).  Only Peter James (71 in 1973-74) and Jack Massie (69 in 1913-14) have taken more wickets in a First Grade season for University.

The qualifying final against Randwick-Petersham was Hayden Kerr’s 100th First Grade match.

Jordan Gauci, playing his 159th First Grade match, appeared in a Belvidere Cup finals match for the first time.  He also passed 600 runs for the season.

The qualifying final against Randwick-Petersham was Nick Larkin’s 57th finals appearance for the club (18 in Belvidere Cup, 15 in the First grade Limited Overs competition, 13 in the T20 competition, 6 in Poidevin-Gray and 5 in Seconds).
