Defeat to Randwick-Petersham in the grand final of the Kingsgrove Sports T20 competition meant that Sydney University finished as runners-up for the fifth time.

The T20 final against Randwick-Petersham was Tim Cummins’ 250th match in First Grade (111 for University and 139 for Penrith).  He has also passed 500 Premier Cricket dismissals in all grades.

When Devlin Malone removed Wests’ Afghan Test batsman Javad Ahmadi on Saturday, he claimed his 250th wicket in First Grade (35 of them for Sutherland).  He now has 218 First Grade wickets for University: on the weekend he passed Ben Joy (214) and Tom Kierath (216) to become the 11th highest wicket-taker for the club in Firsts.

His 80 against Western Suburbs was Nick Larkin’s 46th innings above fifty for the club, including 18 centuries.  His innings took him past St George’s Ray Flockton, Andrew Millican of Randwick, Test captain Syd Gregory and Parramatta’s Mark Wood, so that he’s now the equal 105th highest run scorer in the history of the First grade competition.

Dugald Holloway’s defiant 53 against Western Suburbs was his second half-century in First Grade.

The match against Western Suburbs on Saturday was Ryan McElduff’s 150th game in Premier Cricket in all grades (16 of them for Gordon). Ryan’s 4-16 against Randwick-Petersham on Sunday was a career-best performance with the ball in First Grade.

Henry Clark, with 26 against Wests in Second Grade on Saturday, took his tally of runs in all grades for the club to precisely 2500.

Ravi Wikramanayake has passed 2000 runs in Premier Cricket in all grades and for all his clubs (Sydney University, Campbelltown-Camden and Blacktown).

Rex Greaves didn’t do much wrong on Saturday: his 57 against Wests was his highest score and first fifty in Second Grade, his second fifty (and equal highest score) for the club, and followed his third four-wicket haul of the season (4-37).

Andrew Wilkinson’s second wicket against Wests on Saturday was his 200th for the club in all grades. 

Nicky Craze played his 100th match for the club in all grades.

During his innings against Wests in Thirds on Saturday, Tom Fullerton passed 1500 runs for the club in all grades.

During his strong all-round game against Wests in Thirds (34, 3 catches, 2-17), Andrew Hazard passed 500 runs for the club in all grades.

JP Gavan’s 44 against Wests in Fifths equalled his highest score for the club.

Evander Herbert returned his best bowling figures in Metropolitan Cup (4-23) against North-West Sydney.

Saarangan Arvind’s 59 against North-West Sydney in Metropolitan Cup was his fourth half-century for the club.
