The opening round of the 2020/21 season began with a bang for one man in particular, Ryan Danne, who knocked the ball to every corner of the ground on his way to an unbeaten 92*, as well as picking up the match winning wicket for the 2nds. After forming a crucial 98 run partnership with Bennett Walsh (60), Danne took control and helped steer the ‘students’ to a total of 276.
In what was a solid team effort, we must not forget Walsh’s fast paced 60. Additionally, it was great to see Jackson Gwynne bowl figures of 3/43. Gwynne’s effort of picking up the top order batsmen led to the sudden fall of the Sydney Cricket Club batting line-up.
If this weekend is anything like the last, then someone needs to tell the media guy to install a crowd catch camera!
